2Historical & Cultural Exploration
Visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. These are two iconic landmarks in Beijing, China, closely linked geographically and historically. Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest city square, lies to the north of the Forbidden City, with Tiananmen (Gate of Heavenly Peace) separating the two. The Forbidden City, a vast palace complex, served as the imperial residence for centuries.
3Cultural Workshops and Local Experiences
Calligraphy and Chinese painting workshops. Chinese calligraphy is a revered art form in Chinese culture, emphasizing the visual beauty of written characters and their expressive potential. It’s not just about conveying meaning, but also about capturing the artist’s inner spirit and emotions through the dynamic movement of the brush. Calligraphy is deeply intertwined with Chinese painting and shares similar tools and techniques, often influencing each other.
Visit a local hutong (traditional neighborhood) for interaction with residents.
4Iconic Landmarks and Modern Beijing
Visit the Great Wall of China (Mutianyu section). It is a well-preserved section of the Great Wall of China, located about 70 kilometers (43 miles) northeast of Beijing. It’s known for its beautiful scenery, well-preserved watchtowers, and strategic importance as a military defense. Construction on this section began in the 6th century, with significant rebuilding in 1569.
Afternoon at the Summer Palace. It is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces in Beijing. It was an imperial garden during the Qing dynasty. Inside includes Longevity Hill Kunming Lake and Seventeen Hole Bridge. It covers an expanse of 2.9 square kilometres, three-quarters of which is water
5Religious Culture and Innovation
Visit the temple of Heaven. This is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a large complex of religious buildings where Ming and Qing emperors prayed for good harvests and national well-being. It’s known for its impressive architecture and historical significance. 
Visit the Beijing Olympic Stadium. This area was the main site for the 2008 Summer Olympics, featuring iconic venues like the Bird’s Nest (National Stadium) and the Water Cube (National Aquatics Center).

Program Fee covers the cost of hosting you on an AYFN program and gives back to participants as facilities during the program. Program Fees vary according to your chosen.

  • International flights to and from Beijing are not included in the package.
  • Any visa fees required for entry into China are not included.
  • Personal expenses such as internet, souvenirs, additional snacks, and drinks outside of the included meals are not covered.
  • Optional activities not mentioned in the itinerary are not included.
  • Travel insurance is highly recommended but not included in the package.
  • Gratuities for your driver/guide are not mandatory but are appreciated for good service.
  • AYFN program attracts a Registration Fee of USD 35 for non member of AYFN. This covers all pre-departure support services from AYFN
  • A 5% international banking fee is added at point of payment.
  • Additional discount of USD 50 for member of AYFN and alumni (International). This discount can deduct the program fee.

Eligibility: 

  • Age: 15 – 35 Years old
  • All nationalities are welcomed to takepart.
  • Commit to join full program.
  • Be able to cover all expenses.
  • Be able to communicate in English (basic).
  • Be able to adapt new environment easily.
  • Health physically and mentally
  • You can apply for the AYFN Travel Grant Scholarship 2025 to join this program. Learn more.
  • Invite your friends to join. We offer commision in the amount of USD 50 (International) or Rp 500.000 (for Indonesian) for every paid bookings we receive from your referal.
  • For a school or a group, we offer 1 full scholarship on the program fee for every 8 paid bookings we receive from your group or institution.
  • For a school or a group, we grant a 60% scholarship on the program fee for every 5 paid bookings we receive from your group or institution. (you may nominate the 6th applicant to get this grant)
