Bilateral Students’ Leader Adventure Camp (BiSAC)

BiSAC program description

Bilateral Student Leaders’ Adventure Camp (BiSAC) is a youth and cultural camp between Vietnamese youth and Indonesian youth. The primary mission of this camp is to promote cultural exchange, leadership and mutual understanding. This camp will involve young people from both countries and will take place in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The era of globalization has led to the attitude of individualism so that the sense of caring and togetherness is often overlooked. Through the event which brings theme: “Friendship is our soul”, participants will feel the beauty of togetherness. This event is trying to make a real contribution to the achievement of the ASEAN Community by people to people contact between the youth of Indonesia and Vietnam.

  1. Language and culture
  2. Social working
  3. Workshop
  4. Discussing
  5. Adventure trip

 

Activities:

  1. Language exchange: Indonesian students will learn basic Vietnamese language and they also will introduce Bahasa Indonesia to their counterpart in Vietnam.
  2. Social work : child care at orphanage and social visit to local village
  3. Workshop on entrepreneurship and small enterprise
  4. Team building among Indonesian students and Vietnamese students.
  5. Adventure trip to Ha Long Bay
  6. Cultural Trip in Hanoi
  7. Cultural performance

 

How does the BiSAC will work?

  1. Participants will be paired up (Some participants from Indonesia and Participants from Vietnam).
  2. The event will combine sense of friendship, adventure and caring
  3. Indonesian students will live for one week in Vietnam and accompanied by Vietnamese student during program.
  4. Participants will be involved in social event.

Location of BiSAC Program

In this 2013, BiSAC Program will be held in the capital city of Vietnam, namely Hanoi. The city is called as the cultural city of Vietnam and 1000 years old. Previous BiSAC Program was held in Hochiminh City, Vietnam. On this special year, AYFN move its BiSAC Program into Hanoi. The city is located in north of Vietnam and very near of China. Hanoi’s culture is influenced by Chinese as long time ago Vietnam was under colonized by China.

 

Start and duration of BiSAC program

BiSAC Prgram will take place on 21 – 27 May 2013. During week long program, the participants will do cultural exchange, idea exchange, social work and of course adventure trip around Hanoi. The participants will start their program at 7.30 a.m – 17.00 p.m everyday. In the evening, participants will have free time to explore the magnificent of Hanoi or go shopping.

 

BiSAC participants requirements.

The candidates of BiSAC program should meet the criteria as follow:

  • Must be 18 – 25 Years old (minimum high school education)
  • Able to speak English (Toefl is not required)
  • Commit to join full program (pre, on , and post program)
  • Able to adapt new environment easily
  • Health physically and mentally

How to apply

  1. Download the application form, fill it completely and send back into bisac.ayfn@gmail.com
  2. Along with your application, you MUST enclose short video of yourself (contains: describe yourself, your talent, short presentation about Indonesian in English). Duration of video is minimum 3 minutes. The video must be in mp4, flv, vid format.
  3. The committee will confirm you whether you are accepted or not.
  4. Deadline of application : 4 April 2013 before 23.00

 

BiSAC program cost

One of the AYFN’s strength is to provide high quality placement program, but still affordable. To join BiSAC Program (one week program), participants must donate IDR 3,500,000,-. Program cost should be paid after being accepted.

 

Accommodation and meals during program

During program in Hanoi, participants will stay in hotel/guesthouse. The accommodations are a popular and a very sociable option as you get to live and socialize with other participants and Vietnamese buddies.  Living conditions in the hotel are very good, 2/3 stars hotel. Males and females are accommodated in separate room and per room will be occupied by 2 – 4 people.

Vietnam is renowned for its tasty and diverse food. Meals will be provided based on schedule. Meals consist of traditional Vietnamese dishes (NOT CONTAINS PORK), which participants generally find to be very generous and tasty. If you have special eating needs, please let us know ahead of time so that we can make arrangements for you. However, we need to stress the point that you should not expect to eat as you normally do at home. We will do our best to see that you are well taken care of, but also as a participant, there is a need to be flexible. There are numerous amazing restaurants throughout Hanoi which you will be directed to by program staff if you wish to eat out occasionally.

 

What do participants’ fees for?

Program Fee – Airport pick up, orientation, All activities indicated on schedule (language exchange, cultural tour, adventure tour, social work, etc), certificate of completion, program supervision, accommodation (7D6N) and meals during volunteer placement period as indicated on schedule, In-country 24/7 volunteer support and In-country administration costs.

 

What additional cost should participants have?

Flight expenses, passport fee, personal insurance, personal expense.

How does the BiSAC will work?

Who will be the participants?

The participants of BiSAC are students/youth from Indonesia and Vietnam. They should active in any organization, master in English, able to adapt easily, have high determination in friendship and culture.

Term of participation
17 – 25 years old, able to work independently and in team, healthy (physically and mentally), good communication, permission from parents, and able to pay program fee.

 

 

How to apply?

  1. Fill the application form ( application form )
  2. Send back the application form after being completed and must be enclosed supporting documents (photo, permission letter from parents, Letter of Acknowledgement BiSAC) to bisac.ayfn@gmail.com. If you have any certificates, you can enclose along with the application.

 

  • Program fee                          : IDR 3,200,000 (paid after being accepted)
  • Registration deadline       : March 25, 2012

 

Financial terms

  • Included: Orientation, selection process, accommodation (airfare/flight is excluded) and meal during program, airport pickup, adventure trip, T-Shirt, activities during program (language and FGD, games, etc), certificate, member card of AYFN and 24/7 In Country support.

 

  • Excluded: Airfare/flight tickets to and from Ho Chi Minh, passport fee, personal expenses beyond program, transfer to airport, souvenir
