INDONESIA PHILIPPINES YOUTH CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM #5

The AYFN Indonesia and its counterpart in Philippines, Ateneo Students Exchange Council (ASEC) of Ateneo de Manila University, proudly present “Indonesia Philippines Youth Cultural Exchange Program #5”. This program is designated to promote friendship, solidarity, cultural awareness and peace between youth from both countries.

IPYCEP #5 is a cultural and youth exchange program batch 5 where the first time (IPYCEP #1) was successfully held in Ateneo de Manila University, hosted by ASEC, followed with IPYCEP #2 in Yogyakarta hosted by AYFN Indonesia. To continue and widen friendship network between two countries, ASEC successfully hold the third IPYCEP on July 2012 in Manila, and the last time in April 2013 became AYFN’s turn to host Filipino youth to have cultural program in Yogyakarta.

 

This program aims to continue the friendship between the youth of the two countries that was forged when IPYCEP was established. The program is not only an avenue to make new friends, it is also an avenue to learn about different cultures that make us unique but at the same time binds us in a colorful tapestry. Since it started, the program has brought together students in a fusion of cultural and leadership exposures. IPYCEP is ASEC and AYFN’s way to bridge the gap between the youth of both countries, and contribute to the cooperation of the ASEAN in their own little ways.

Main agenda of IPYCEP:

  • Learn Filipino culture intensively (Filipino dance and history of Philippines)
  • Learn new skills through our activities
  • Learn to be a team player, gain in self-confidence and in travelling experience
  • Live in new environment and new culture
  • Meet new people and make friends
  • Have fun in a relaxed and secure environment
  • Visit Manila, the Modern and metropolitan city of Philippines

 

How to apply IPYCEP

Candidate should meet the criteria as follow:

  • Must be 16 – 25 years old
  • Have high motivation to learn
  • Healthy physically and mentally
  • Able to communicate in English (Toefl score is Not required)

 

Procedure to apply:

  • Please fill and complete application form (please enclose your color photo), scanned of your passport (if any) and short essay on topic “Philippines and Indonesia in my mind” (minimum 300 words), into ayfn.hq@gmail.com
  • After receiving and reviewing your documents, committee will notify you and send you official letter of invitation. So, please apply as soon as possible.
  • Deadline of admission : 15 November 2013

 

Program fee

Both ASEC and AYFN Indonesia don’t provide scholarship to attend this program. Therefore, applicants who are willing to join this program should donate USD 350 for one week program (All inclusive).

The program fee cover the whole activities indicated on schedule, accommodation (7D/6N), Meals, Airport pick up, T-Shirt and certificate of completion. Note: airfare to/from Manila is excluded.

 

How to travel to Manila

It’s easy to travel to Manila. Manila has big international airport that connect to Jakarta and Bali by Philippines Airlines, Cebu Air, Malaysia Airlines, Tiger Air, Jetstar Air, Singapore Airlines.

Indonesia Philippines Youth Cultural Exchange Program (IPYCEP) #3

IPYCEP 2011

We are looking for Indonesian youth to join our newest program “Indonesia – Philippines Youth Cultural Exchange Program” batch 3. Last year this program was successfully held in Manila and this year we will hold the same program there. IPYCEP #3 will take place in Ateneo De Manila University, Manila, Philippines on July 9th – 15th , 2012. In this program Asean Youth Friendship Network (AYFN) cooperates with Ateneo Student Exchange Council (ASEC).

Indonesia Philippines Youth Cultural Exchange Program 2012 : Day 1

Sudah hampir setahun, setelah delegasi AYFN mengunjungi Ateneo de Manila Univeristy di Manila, Filipina untuk menjalankan program Indonesia – Philippines Youth Cultural Exchange Program, pada bulan Juni 2011 lalu. Sekarang, gilairan kami delegasi ASEAN Youth Friendship Program untuk menyambut delegasi ASEC (Ateneo Students Exchange Council) yang akan menjalankan program IPYCEP 2012 di Yogyakarta, Indonesia selama 1 minggu ke depan.

Setelah menghabiskan 1 malam di Bandara International Soekarno-Hatta, Cengkareng, 14 orang delegasi ASEC tiba di yogykarta pukul 11.00 A.M waktu setempat. Beberapa LO dari pihak AYFN menyambut kedatangan rekan-rekan ASEC. Kami pun mengajak mereka untuk makan pagi di Salah satu rumah makan khas Indonesia di Jalan C.Simanjuntak, Terban.

Sambil mengurangi lelah para delegasi ASEC, kami melakukan ice breaking dengan bincang-bincang sederhana. Kami juga memperkenalkan makanan Indonesia dengan ciri khas “pedasnya”. Meski beberapa dari delegasi ASEC tidak bisa tahan dengan cita rasa khas tersebut, namun mereka sangat menikmati makan siang yang kami sajikan.

Pukul 14.00 waktu setempat, menggunakan mobil yang telah disediakan, kami beranjak ke University Club di Universitas Gadjah Mada. Jadwal berikutnya, pihak AYFN akan menyelenggarakan Campus Tour di sekeliling area Univeritas. Dimulai dari Grha Sabha Pramana, delegasi AYFN yang merangkap sebagai tour guide menjelaskan mengenai sejarah dan fungsi bangunan yang dimaksud. Sambil menikmati kemegahan Grha Sabha Pramana, kami mengambil beberapa photo sebagai kenangan dan melanjutkan perjalanan ke gedung Rektorat UGM. Setelah melewati rektorat, kami mengambil rute melewati fakultas kehutanan, hingga fakultas teknologi pertanian. Setelah mengelilingi area UGM, kami kembali ke UC, dan bersiap melakukan kegiatan selanjutnya.

Masuk ke acara utama, menggunakan dress code casual dan batik, Para delegasi ASEC dan AYFN memasuki salah satu ruangan di University Club untuk menjalankan acara pembukaan IPYCEP 2012 pada pukul 18.00. Di mulai dengan beberapa sambutan, di ikuti dengan menyanyikan lagu kebangsaan Indonesia dan Filipina, serta tarian dan pemotongan tumpeng, acara pembukaan berlangsung hingga peserta dipersilahkan untuk menyantap makan malam yang disediakan.

Makan malam berlangsung dengan meriah. Sambil menyantap masakan khas Indonesia yang disediakan, kami saling berbincang dan bergurau. Terlihat sekali keakraban antara delegasi baik AYFN dan ASEC. Diiringi lantunan lagu beserta instrumen yang dinyanyikan oleh kedua delegasi, acara makan malam kali ini menjadi momen bahagia yang tidak bisa dilupakan.

Waktu hampir menunjukan pukul 9 kurang. Acara makan malam dihentikan, dan delegasi ASEC akan dipersilahkan untuk kembali ke guest house yang sudah disediakan. Setelah menutup acara hari ini, kami membacakan rundown acara untuk keesokan hari.
